Pink Axolotl

A sole proprietor, software development business founded by Paul Coddington, Pink Axolotl seeks to transform small systems development by offering exceptional quality services at substantially reduced cost.

The concept of The Pink Axolotl was conceived as a faux brand name for personal creative endeavour in 1984, when Benno Meyer-Rochow introduced himself to the 2nd Year Biology of the Chordates class by passing around a metamorphosed axolotl in a jar.

In 1985, the Department of Biological Sciences at The University of Waikato held a competition to design an official sweatshirt, with the winning design based on an original cartoon character created by Paul. Since then, Pink Axolotl has been used as a personal label for original drawings, paintings and music.

“Taking IT seriously…”

Dissatisfied with the limitations, inefficiencies, low standards and high cost imposed by the contract software development industry, Paul registered Pink Axolotl in 2007 intending to set new standards of customer service and personal productivity. Small business, neglected by the industry and unable to afford traditional software development services, would especially benefit from this new business model.

Based in Tokoroa, New Zealand, Pink Axolotl provides boutique software development services to clients anywhere in the world using Internet-based conferencing and collaborative web sites. Selected software products are under development to be offered for sale in the near future.

“Big ideas for little fish…”
